Celebrating female collaborators - Charlotte

After losing her mum to ovarian cancer when she was just 17, Charlotte decided to get tested for the BRCA1 gene, which means you have an extremely high chance of being diagnosed with breast and ovarian cancer. After testing positive for this gene, she opted for a preventative double mastectomy.

Charlotte blogged about her experience, which received 45’000 views in the first week alone and led to genetic referrals in Manchester, UK doubling. What an achievement!

Like me, Charlotte searched for solutions for surgical drain bags. Surgical drains are unsightly and you want to be able to easily go about your everyday life while wearing them. We both experienced less than ideal solutions and it was this experience that led Charlotte to create Drain Dollies, producing bags to contain the drains in a discreet manner. They are available in beautiful patterns and a percentage of her sales are donated to Genesis who work towards the end goal of preventing breast cancer!

I am proud to sell her designs here in Switzerland. Charlotte has made this part of the recovery that bit easier for so many women!
